COVID-19: Julius Berger donates personal protective equipment to more hospitals in Lagos


In continuation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aimed at supporting government efforts at providing the much-needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hospital equipment and palliatives in a bid to curb the spread of  the coronavirus (COVID-19) Julius Berger Nigeria (JBN) has donated PPE to more general hospitals in Lagos state.
The donation of  the  PPEs  is  coming  even  as  other  palliatives  by  the  company  including  food  items  were distributed  to different communities and its fumigation of parts of the state continue.

A press statement by JBN Media Relations Office, Tuesday, said the General Hospital Lagos Island and  Lagos Island Maternity Hospital have received their share of the PPEs.
In the first leg of the distribution of PPEs which commenced at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, covered General hospitals at Ikorodu, Agbowa to the General hospitals at Epe and Ibeju-Lekki.


According to the statement, while receiving the items the Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lagos Island Maternity, Dr. Olufemi M. Omololu, said: “This effort by Julius Berger is appreciated. On behalf of all of us here and Lagosians, I commend  the effort. Identifying with government’s efforts in this fight against  Covid-19 by Julius Berger demonstrates the company’s real and commendable desire to save humanity and Nigeria from the pandemic. We are indeed grateful.”  
The office further disclosed that the general hospitals in Badagry and Alimosho as well as the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre and Maternity and Child Centre, Amuwo amongst others, have been pencilled for the next round of distribution.


Meanwhile, Julius Berger’s statewide fumigation exercise as well as the distribution of food palliatives across the state continue, even as the Group Head, Julius Berger Media Relations Office, Prince Moses Duku, has assured that, “The Board and Management of Julius Berger insists that the war against corona virus is a battle that must be won in the best interest of our country, people and economy.”
