Covid-19: Kano health commissioner, 15 others discharged

The Kano state government has said the Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanya, and the Head of the Department, Public Heath, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Prof. Abdulrazak Garba Habib, have been discharged from one of the isolation centres in Kano.

Similarly, 14 other Coronavirus patients were also discharged bringing the total number of the cured patients to 16, despite the rapid increase in the number of those getting infected on a daily basis according to statistic released by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Ministry of Health respectively.

The Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Muhammad Garba, in a press statement, Friday in Kano, said they were discharged following measures put in place at the various isolation centres, noting that considerable progress were being made.

Garba stressed that the only way to stem the spate of the Coronavirus was for people to abide by the rules and regulations stipulated by medical authorities.

He stated that the state government would be consistent in taking proactive steps aimed at making all the isolation centres functional at all times and called on the general public to report all suspicious cases for proper action to be taken without delay.
