Covid-19: Lagos confirms 33 dead as cases near 2000

Lagos state government has confirmed the death of 33 Covid-19 patients since the pandemic found its way into the commercial city in Nigeria.

Confirming this on Saturday via his twitter handle, Commissioner for Health Prof Akin Abayomi said 176 new coronavirus cases were recorded on Friday while 42 patients were successfully treated and discharged.

He said the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Lagos is now 1683.

Out of the 42 discharged patients, 20 are females while 22 are males, and that all Nigerians in the isolation centre were discharged same day.

At the moment, the number of treated patients are now 448.
