COVID-19: Motherless babies, vulnerable pray for Umahi’s recovery

Vulnerable people in Ebonyi state on Thursday, prayed for the quick recovery of the governor of Ebonyi state David Nweze Umahi from Coronavirus.

Located along Sam Egwu Way opposite Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church,  the Children at the Nigeria Red Cross motherless babies home in Abakaliki, rendered the prayer when the Forum of Ebonyi State Coordinators as part of activities to mark her three days prayer for the governor paid a visit to the motherless babies’ home located at Nsugbe, opposite Saint Theresa’s Catholic Church.

The Forum donated diapers, detergents, toiletries, wipes and others, including undisclosed amount of money to them.

Speaking during the event, Chairman Coordinators Forum, Hon. Beatrice Eze who doubles as the Coordinator of Izzi Development Centre explained that coordinators had embarked on three days prayers and fasting for the quick recovery of His Excellency Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi and other Coronavirus infected persons in the world.

Hon. Eze, who noted that the gifts were a token of what God has done to the people of Ebonyi state further, noted that the prayers of children and the vulnerables are effective.

She said, “We brought this as a token to enable you people continue to take care of the motherless children under your care. You are aware of the Coronavirus and we know how much it has affected the economy.

“At a time like this, we know that if the children cry out to God, he is going to listen to them. So, we are giving them this token to help them. We know that through their prayers, our governor will get well”, she stated.

Appreciating the gesture, Chief Simeon Nweze, Chairman, Nigeria Red Cross Motherless Babies Home, who reiterated that God was a prayer answering God, said that many people had been prayed for by the children.

According to him, the governor’s healing was going to be miraculous, even as he tasked Ebonyians to pray for the governor to go to Abuja in 2023.

“We want to thank His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi for his unprecedented achievements in Ebonyi state, especially his disposition to clean environment. I want to also thank the Coordinators for their gestures. Of course, we heard that the governor tested positive to COVID-19, but we are sure he is going to get well soon.

“Those of you who are close to David Nweze Umahi, I want you to call on him to go and represent us in Abuja. The children here with our support will pray for the governor because there is nobody will pray for that God do not answer. So many people do come here for prayer and by the special grace of God their prayers are answered.

“Those of you who are coordinators, you will be elevated to higher positions. The governor’s healing is going to be miraculous. The miracle on his life is going to exceptional,” he prayed.

Grace Obasi, a blind woman who hails from Okaleru in Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and  Igwe Stephen rendered prayers for  the governor.
