Covid-19: NGO, school commence distribution of food stuff in Sagamu


Gateway Grassroots G Development Association an NGO in collaboration with Great Scholars International School, Sagamu have commenced distribution of food stuff in Sagamu to augment government efforts in compliance with the lockdown to curb Covid-19 spread.
The coordinator of Gateway Grassroots Development Association, Ms Ebun Shoda, said the food stuff distribution would go to the needy to cushion the  effect of the lockdown.
Shoda, also the Executive Director,  Great Scholars International School, SAGAMU said the distribution of food stuff would continue for the period of the lock down in Sagamu.


According to her, “the programme is tagged ‘Food Bank’ and we are going to distribute food stuff to the needy to augment government efforts.
”This is also our own little way to support government effort in the fight against the covid-19 that has continued to revenge the world.
”The food items are contributed by friends and good hearted individuals and families to assist the needy.


”The food items will only be given to the grassroots vulnerable that are homeless and indigent beggars,” she said.
Shoda called on Nigerians to comply with the ‘Stay at Home and Stay Safe’ to curb the spread of the dreaded Covid-19.
She advised Nigerians to abide by the regulations of social distancing, washing of hands regularly and avoid touching of the face to stay healthy and stop the spread of the virus.
