COVID-19: No need to panic, move closer to God – Bishop Wale Oke tells Nigerians

The Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries Ibadan and National Deputy President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Bishop Francis Wale Oke on Wednesday urged Nigerians not to be panic with the outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.

Bishop Wale Oke gave the charge in a statement issued by his media office and made available to Blueprint on the fears enveloping the country over the spread of the disease worldwide.

According to the PFN second man in command, rather than panicking, it is now time for all and sundry to move closer to God for an end to the deadly disease.
The popular Bishop also told Nigerians and other citizens of the world should  see the current situation as a wake up call for everyone to be faithful to God as well as to adhere strictly to the prescribed rules of staying safe and to avail themselves of the opportunity offered by the time, to move closer to God.

“Indeed, the signs are pointer to the omnipotence of God and truly, we are in trying times. But this should be a message and lesson to the world. There is no need of being panicky, rather, we should be closer to our creator by feeding fat on his words as our armour. Above everything, it’s more beneficial to our souls at the end of our sojourn here on earth,” he said.
The PFN national deputy president added, “In addition, let’s all be cautious by following all the prescribed steps being reeled out  by the government and other relevant stakeholders, aimed at curtailing the coronavirus scourge. God will surely preserve his people for His own glory alone.”

Lauding the government at all levels in Nigeria for the steps so far taken to combat the spread of the disease, Bishop Wale Oke tasked them not to relent until it is totally subdued,
He however urged non-governmental agencies and corporate bodies to also join in creating awareness about the disease that has enveloped the world so as to keep the people at the grassroots, informed.
