Covid-19 palliatives: Ize-Iyamu targets 1,000 families

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Edo state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, Friday, unfolded palliatives for vulnerable people across Edo state in the wake of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Ize-Iyamu disclosed this while releasing a lorry load of the foodstuff which was headed for the 64 wards in the 6 local government areas that make up Edo North.

He also made known two emergency phone numbers: 07046373027 and 08114046290 as help lines for people in dire need of food and water within the state.

“Our target is 1000 families. Our plan is that we should be able to touch a certain number of families in every part of the state, in every ward,” he said.

He explained that others were being loaded for the other wards in the local government areas of Edo Central and South senatorial districts

The aspirant, who had distributed Hand sanitizers and coronavirus awareness leaflets across the state said, “I am distributing food items such as rice, beans, garri, noodles, tomatoes, salt, water etc to vulnerable people because there is a compelling need at this time to do so.

“With the lockdown due to restriction of movement of persons across the state as part of measures to reduce the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus, people are bound to be hungry.”
