Yobe state deputy governor and Chairman Committee on Prevention and Control of COVID -19, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, Monday, urged traditional, religious leaders and government officials to take the lead in mobilisation effort in their respective communities to take the second dose of the Oxford- AstraZeneca COVID -19 vaccine.
He made the call shortly after taking his second dose of the vaccine at the Government House, Damaturu.
The deputy governor had received the first dose jab of the vaccination on 28 March, 2021. He called on the people of the state to be vaccinated in order to be protected from the pandemic.
“All government officials, traditional and religious leaders are called upon to take the lead in the mobilisation effort in their respective communities towards the vaccination exercise,” Gubana said.
The deputy governor’s chief nursing officer, Abubakar Sani Janga (RN), administered the vaccine to him in his office under the supervision of Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana.
