As part of efforts to cushion the effects of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Edo state, Monday distributed food items to media houses in the state.
Ize-Iyamu said the exercise is part of his state-wide food distribution effort carried out by his campaign to offer relief to residents of the state and essential workers, including journalists in the fight against COVID-19.
The stimulus is part of the campaign organisation’s planned partnership with relevant stakeholders in communities for easier identification of families in need of relief items and faster distribution.
According to a statement issued by the Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organisation, the aspirant was at AIT/Ray Power and ITV media houses where food items were delivered to the broadcasters.
The organization said the food distribution was a follow up to his initial production and distribution of thousands of hand sanitisers across the State.
The statement quoted Ize-Iyamu as saying, “despite the restrictions, journalists remain active on duty and performed the important task of keeping the people informed, alert and engaged.”
