CP to public: Resist rights violation by SARS, others

Kwara state Commissioner of Police, Olusola Amore, yesterday asked members of the public to resist any form of rights violation meted against them by operatives of the Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS) and other policemen in the state.
The police boss who said the command was committed to “the respect of the rights of the good people of Kwara state,” directed FSARS operatives to “at all times adhere strictly to the stated rules of engagement in addition to the ethics of good conduct of the Nigeria Police Force.”
In a statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ajayi Okasanmi, Amore advised members of the public who suffers any form of rights violation to report such to the police authority in the state.
It read in part: “The Special Anti-robbery Squad (FSARS) of the Kwara state police Command has been directed by the Commissioner of police Kwara state Command, CP Olusola E. Amore, to at all times adhere strictly with the stated rules of engagement in addition to the ethics of good conduct of the Nigeria Police Force.
“Therefore, the general public is advised to resist any form of intimidation and extortion by SARS operatives forcing them to collect money using their ATM cards and all other illicit tactics.
“The general public is also advised to call the following numbers to report any unwholesome activities of SARS operatives and indeed other policemen.”
