Crack as media director ‘opposes’ Ibrahim Adra’s appointment as Nasarawa gov’s CPS

There is a impending crack, laced with concussion in the media department of governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state over the appointment of Ibrahim Inuwa Addra as the new Chief Press Secretary (CPS).

The governor, had on Thursday announce the appointment of Ibrahim Addra of the Channels Television as his CPS.

By the appointment, Addra is meant to henceforth manage the press affairs of the governor.

But Malam Yakubu Lamai who is the director general Strategic Communication and Press Affairs countered the governor Abdullahi Sule on the appointment of the CPS.

In a publication in one of the national dailies, Mallam Lamai insisted that his office remained in existence despite the appointment of Ibrahim Addra.

When contacted, the state commissioner for information, culture and tourism, Dogo Shammah, said that Malam Yakubu Lamai is on his own.

According to him, “Whatever interpretation he is giving is his personal interpretation, but his excellency today (Thursday) during the emergency state executive council meeting announced that he has appointed a chief press secretary and he thanked the DG strategic communication and press affairs for what he has done and from now onward, he would be restricted to strategic communication while the new CPS will handle the press affairs.

“But if he is giving a different interpretation, that is his personal business but I have never seen where a CPS works under a DG. The DG is a nomenclature that is created politically by the governor,” he said.
