Crimes attributed to Fulani, committed by other tribes – Dangirka

National patron and leader of all Fulani groups in Nigeria Malam Ibrahim Dangirka has said that 75% of crimes attributed to Fulani in Nigeria such as armed banditry, kidnappings, killings in states like Zamfara, Taraba, Kaduna and Benue states are committed by other tribes.

‎Dangirka, while exonerating Fulani race from criminality across Nigeria said that there are other tribes involved in those crimes and not Fulani as being portrayed in some quarters, adding that those accusing Fulani people of such crimes are doing so only to blackmail them.

Speaking to newsmen during a seminar to sensitise Fulani Ardos and leaders in Kaduna on the need to collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and vote candidates of their choice in the forthcoming general elections, their national leader said that there are more than 53 tribes in Fulani race therefore the government should come out to mention which of the Fulani tribe is involved in killing of innocent people in the country.

According to Dangirka, the real Fulani men do not  know how to operate AK 47 rifle because they only carry sticks to control theirs cattle not guns. “It’s all lies because a Fulani man knows nothing apart from his stick. Who teaches a Fulani man how to operate AK 47 to kill people in those states? Which Fulani can use AK 47 and do you think using AK 47 is easy? It’s not easy to use AK 47. Those attributing such killings to Fulanis are blackmailers and all these blackmailings that Fulanis are using AK 47 is all lie and we don’t believe it.

He said that there is no tribe in Nigeria that does not have a bad egg in it but to attribute all forms of criminality to one race in simply an act of blackmail. He however, urged Nigerian government to find a way to ‎ identify those responsible In the killings, kidnapping and armed banditry to disclose their identity for Nigerians to see them.

“Let the government do something about it so as to know the real tribes behind it but certainly not Fulani. We equally want to live in peace with farmers and our neighbours because nobody is happy with the happening in the North and Nigeria. Those using guns are also rustling the Fulani cows too,” he lamented.
