Crises of interest tears northern APGA leadership apart – Yelleman

The crises of interest that rocked the membership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the north has reached a devastating level, forcing some state chairmen and stakeholders revolt against its former national secretary, Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi.

This is happening ahead of May, 2019 national convention of the party, where the northern leaders disassociated themselves from the demand of the former national Secretary, Dr Shinkafi who wants the chairmanship position of the party to be zoned to the north.

while speaking exclusively to our reporter Wednesday in Dutse, Jigawa state capital, a chieftain of the party, Alhaji Sardauna Yero Yelleman said: “the former national secretary had on April, 20, chaired a meeting with some unknown people in Kaduna, demanding for the chairmanship of the party to be zoned to the north, it was salefish and did not represent the intetest of the north”.

“We are in support for the national convention of the party, slated for May, 2019 to be held in no any other place than Akwa, the Anambra state capital, the choice for Akwa is based on the fact that it is the strong hold of the party”, he emphasized.

“The northern leaders have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on our national leader of the party and chairman of Board of Trustee (BOT), the Anambra state governor, Dr. Willie Obiano, for good perfomance in governance”, he said.
