Curfew: Uproar as Anambra youth protest alleged police killing

Tension built up in Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka local government area, Anambra state, as youth Thursday, protested over the death of a-22-year old man.

 The man was allegedly murdered on Wednesday night.

The protesters, carrying  placards of different inscriptions, insisted that the lockdown and curfew should be totally lifted, especially in Anambra state, which according to them, was yet to record death as a result of  COVID-19.

The deceased, Blueprint learnt, was allegedly knocked down by commercial tricycle operator at about 8.15pm while being chased in the area by those enforcing the national wide curfew.

“There are plans by the youth to attack Nimo Divisional Police Station to avenge death of their fellow youth. The youth have setup fire works on the road, preventing vehicular movements,” a source alleged.
