In preparation for the nation wide online Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) scheduled Monday next week, the Electoral Institute in collaboration with ICT and Voter Registration (VR) departments organised an online Training of Trainers (ToT) for State Training Officers (STOs) in all the states of the federation including FCT.
The main objective of the training is to demonstrate the INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) technology deployed by the commission for the upcoming exercise and also to acquaint the participants on the new processes and procedures of the CVR.
The Chairman of the Board of Electoral Institute, NC Malam Mohammed Kudu Haruna in his address urged all participants to take the training seriously so as to ensure success in the cascade training of Registration Officers (ROs) and ultimately in the conduct of the CVR.
The DG, TEI in his welcome address charged all trainers to interrogate the issues on the processes and procedures of the CVR and be familiar with the operation of the IVED system.
He stressed the importance of the demonstration of the On line Registration Portal and the presentation of the new INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) Technology deployed by the commission for the purpose of the CVR exercise.
He noted that the first step toward a successful CVR exercise is effective training delivery.
All directors present delivered goodwill messages and called for synergy among all depts to ensure a fruitful training session and ultimately a successful CVR exercise.
