The sour relationship between the management of Ebonyi based nationwide league side Cynosure FC and former coach of Enyimba and Sunshine Stars, Samson Unuanel has hit a dirty and ugly patch.
The media has been awashed with claims and counter claims from both parties, with the intermediary representing Unuanel, Eddie Iseri Ogbemudia, stating that his client was not offered an official contract to become the coach of Cynosure.
Reacting to development, the Chairman of Cynosure FC, Prince Chidiebere Nwaeze expressed his disappointment over the failed deal. According to him, the sudden disappearance of coach Unuanel from the camp of his team was unprofessional and a show of moral indecency.
” I am disappointed in the attitude of Coach Unuanel. This was a person who personally called me and literally begged for this job and it was offered to him after he was interviewed by Coach Kadiri Ikhana.
“We had a mutual agreement to provide him with every thing that would make his job comfortable. As a matter of fact, we have provided him with a well furnished apartment. After a brief meeting with the team, Unuanel called me that he wanted to travel to Abuja to settle some personal issues.
” I was surprised that he refused to return to camp by reneging on the gentleman’s agreement we had. Only for his so called agent to call me and demanding my bank details to make a refund of the transport fare, we gave him. That’s indeed, insulting and demeaning. Meanwhile, we have contract papers waiting for his signature on his return from his purported travel.
The football club owner went on to further express his anger with the intermediary for slandering his personal image and damaging the reputation of his club.
” I am going to sue the intermediary for his uncouth statements aimed at damaging the reputation this team and putting my personal image to disrepute.”
” I have been spending my hard earned money and investing heavily on Nigerian football. I will not allow the unprofessional conducts and attitudes of coach Unuanel and his agent to bring my team and my person to disrepute,” he added.
