A veteran entertainment reporter with Daily Trust and Aminiya, Bashir Liman, has found a new flair in fi lm directing for having successfully debuted a video magazine series titled ‘Mujallar Tauraruwa’. Sponsored by Film Hausa Media, the magazine will be bringing interviews with Kannywood celebrities, entertainment news, gossips, the making of films and onset of day to day happenings in Kannywood. Speaking with Blueprint, Liman disclosed that it took him more than 15 days to conclude interviews with 6 prominent Kannywood actors and actresses.
He said Kannywood stars included Adam A. Zango, Zaharaddeen Sani, Maryam Booth, Fati Muhammad, Ibrahim Maishunku, Jamila Nagudu and 2 musicians Nura M. Inuwa and Hussaini Danko. According to him, the magazine was shot in Kaduna, Kano and Abuja. Liman said directing is one of the hectic and joyous professions to do because one must be thinking like a camera and pay attention to all the details including the sound men.
“It was a great experience to be involved in something new. Before now, I was always on locations to interview fi lmmakers, now I am the one directing them, it is extremely gratifying,” he said. Liman, who has been reporting the activities of Kannywood for a decade, also disclosed that he is now working on new fi lms ‘Dashen Allah’ and ‘Auta’. “I will soon unveil the scripts of the films. I want to start shooting of ‘Dashen Allah’ by God’s grace on 18 April 2018,” he assured. He added that his next project will also include Nollywood actors and sportsmen.
