‘Dalung supervised forged NYCN BoT members’ signature’

Minister of Youth and Sport Development, Barr Solomon Dalung has been accused of presiding over the forging of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Board of Trustees (BoT) members’ signature.

The action facilitated the endorsement of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to lift the BoT caveat to prevent the change of the board without due process.

This was the content of the open letter written to President Muhammadu Buhari by NYCN stakeholders yesterday.

The signatories to the petition include, the Deputy President, National Transition Committee, Abdul-Rahman Agboola, Chairman, NYCN Forum of state chairmen, Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo and six others.

They alleged that the minister broke agreement reached to bring peace to the council by going ahead to inaugurate fake members into the board.

The letter urged President Buhari to intervene by removing Dalung as minister of youth and sports, to save the nation from imminentcrisis and embarrassment.

It said the stakeholders were mobilising youths against the minister as there was a high fever pitched tension at the moment in apprehension of the trouble and fracas that would soon burst between the youths and the minister.

“Mr President, after years of leadership crisis, various factions in the Council resolved to put aside their differences and agreed tocollapse their various executive committees and structures into oneNational Transition Committee in a peace process brokered and achieved through the efforts of a private individual, Engr Jack Rich Tein ofBelema Foundation, with support from the Board of Trustees of the National Youth Council of Nigeria and the office of the Chief Security Officer-CSO to the President.

“Little did we know that his motive was to derail the entire process and foist his boss, Dickson Akoh of Peace Corps on the youth of Nigeria as Chairman BoT NYCN, a position reserved for experienced past leadersof the council.

“It is instructive to note that Dickson Akoh and his Peace Corps became affiliated to the NYCN in 2003 and in 2013. Dickson Akoh and some elements engaged in subversive actions to forcefully take over the Board of Trustees of NYCN and even inaugurated a factional executive without election in the aborted 2013 Makurdi congress, an action which, following massive youth protest, consumed Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, the then minister,” it said.
