Danger looms as technical c’ttee, study group head for collision course

Except there is urgent intervention, crisis seems to be knocking on the door of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with just three months to 2018 World Cup, barely one week after the country’s soccer governing body inaugurated its technical study group.
While inaugurating the technical group inside Glasshouse, headquarters of NFF, President, Amaju Pinnick stated that they would function as a committee, collating, analysing and putting at the disposal of the federation, data and new thinking that could enhance the rapid development of the game in the country.
However, chairman of the technical study committee, Abba Yola who was monitored on one of the Abuja Radio station categorically stated that their function spreads across searching and recommending training centres, scrutinising the technical decision of various National teams including Super Eagles.
Yola statements clearly usurp and overlap into that of the technical committee which is likely to create unnecessary ripples between the two committees saddled with the responsibility of repositioning the country’s football.
Many of the nation’s football stakeholders are wondering why the federation decided to create issues for itself when the mundial
is around the corner.
As part of preparations ahead of the World Cup scheduled for Russia, a number of friendly matches have been lined up for Super Eagles between March and June.
Already, arrangement s have reached advanced stages for initial test games between Nigeria’s senior Men team and their Poland and Serbia counterparts later this month. List of Players to prosecute the matches are being expected today.
