Dangote Cement Plc commences free medical outreach in 3 Benue LGs 


Dangote Cement Plc Gboko in collaboration with NiGrowth services and Benue State AIDS Control Agency (BENSACA), Tuesday commenced free medical outreach for communities in Benue state.


The programmes tagged: ‘Safer and healthier transit communities initiative’ features HIV /AIDS voluntary counseling and testing, diabetes  screening, BMI screening and hypertension screening. 


Apart from Tse- Kucha community in Gboko where the factory plant is situated, the programme will be carried out in Katsina Ala and Aliade, in Benue state.


The programme aims at creating more awareness on HIV/AIDS amongst transit communities who are also rest/sleep over towns for drivers.


Head of sustainability at Dangote Plc, Dr. Igazeuma Okoroba, said the company was concerned about the welfare of the people considering that it was important for the wellbeing of the company.


He commended the traditional rulers for the role they have played to ensure success of the event.


“Today is important day here because welfare of the people is important. We are aware of the fact that transit communities contribute to the economy of the country, therefore Dangote group also recognises you as partners to growth,” he said.
