The Chief Medical Director (CMD) Dahatu Araf Specialist Hospital Lafia, Nasarawa state capital, Dr. Ikrama Hassan, has said the hospital has made significant progress in the delivery of quality healthcare services to the people of the state.
He disclosed on Friday while briefing journalists on the activities of the hospital.
He warned that the management would henceforth deal decisively with any staff found guilty of diverting patients from the hospital to private clinics.
Dr. Ikrama explained that the state’s specialist hospital was well equipped in terms of infrastructure and medical facilities to provide standard medical services to patients.
He said the administration of governor Abdullahi Sule has come up with the idea to transform the hospital services for the benefit of the teeming population of the people of the state.
While enumerating his achievements as the CMD in the past two years under governor Sule’s administration, Dr. Hassan disclosed that the hospital is now filled with qualified doctors, Nurses and other hospital personnel that render services to patients effectively.
“We swung into action to meet the standard projected by the governor, Today Dalhatu Araf specialist hospital (DASH) is transformed from 10 to about 50 offices, increased number of clinics from five to 10 with clinics and wards having their own offices.
“Four major departments in medicine which includes medicine, surgery, pediatric, obstetrics and Gynaecology. And we have sub-specialists attached to those ones, some are supposed to have four clinics, but we have eight among other achievements,” he said.
