David is a rare builder, must be appreciated, not vilified -Osinachi

In appreciation of her immeasurable contributions to the development of female football in the country ,female football stakeholder, Adanna Osinachi has come out to stoutly defend Ruth David, the head of Nigeria Football Federation, Women Unit.

David’s traducers have accused her of causing Super Falcons exit from the Africa qualifier for the Olympic Games , some even accused her of behind the Super Eagles unexpected loss  in WAFU and CHAN Cups

She was pointed as the brain behind the sacking of expatriate coach Thomas Dernneby , they branded her as the nemesis of Nigerian women football, they accused her of influencing appointments and sacking  of coaches and captains as well as invitations to national teams.

Traducers also slammed her for being responsible for everything bad in women football over the past 10 years in the Nigeria’s female football.

However, female football stakeholder, Adanna Osinachi told Blueprint Sport last night that “ there is worrisome orchestrated attack on the personality of David by some elements who are desirous of bringing her down by all means”

“Under her watch as teams secretary Nigeria won the AWC in 2010 and in 2014. Super Falcons also qualified for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 after winning the All Africa Games gold in 2007. As Head of Women football development, she can boasts of two AWC titles, WAFU Cup and All Africa Games gold and World Cup tickets in all cadre of the national teams” she said to our correspondent

“I can also recall  that many times NFF President Amaju Pinick had poured encomium on Ruth  for her sacrifices and managerial savvy describing her as one of his most committed and trusted staff of the federation. She stated

“She had expertly managed the pre- World cup training camp well in Austria when players threatened not to go to the World Cup in France until they  are paid  their  outstanding allowances and bonuses” Osinachi said

Osinachi called on the nation’s football stakeholders to rally behind her and eschew enmity towards taking the female game to greater height as the problems confronting female football in Nigeria-lacked of funding, infrastructure, religion/ culture are not David’s making.

David a graduate of Bayero University, is an assistant director with the NFF with MSC in sports management and also boasts of a couple of FIFA training certificates.
