DBI trains 60 ministry engineers on fibre optics planning, design, deployment

60 Engineers of Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy (FMoCDE) have been trained on various aspects of Fiber Optics.

The first and second batch of the training which was centred on Fibre Optics planning, design and deployment was put together by Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) considering the focus of FMoCDE on laying necessary framework to ensure an efficient implementation of the digital economy agenda of federal government.

The latest capacity building programme was held in Lagos campus of DBI between 8th -12th March 2021.

The first batch held on 30th November – 4th December 2020, while the second batch ran from 14th December -17th December 2020. These trainings according to DBI head public affairs Akin Ogunlade were fully sponsored by Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

Immediate past head of Lagos Campus DBI, Mr Paulinus Okey Ugwoke, who represented the President/CEO of DBI at the first and second trainings expressed DBI’s appreciation to Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) for providing the staff with needed capacity required to lead the digital economy agenda.

He assured that the DBI will continue to live up to standards in ensuring impactful trainings and capacity building to make Nigeria the hub of human capacity development in the communications and ICT space.

DBI head of Lagos Campus Ms Viola Askia Usoro also commended the minister and the permanent secretary for their interest in human capacity development on Fibre Optics which is a core communication infrastructure.

Participants at the training appreciated DBI for the quality of the course contents and delivery which has exposed them to new learnings and refined approach in the design, implementation and maintenance of Fibre Optics in Nigeria.
