Decomposing infant bodies dumped in Edo

Residents of 2nd East Circular Road around Uwa junction in Benin City, Edo state capital, yesterday woke up to find three dead bodies of infants dumped at different points in the area by unidentified persons.
One of the lifeless child, a female, estimated to be about 14-month-old was neatly dressed and faced to the sky.
Two other decomposing bodies of were also wrapped in a cardboard box about 60 metres from the female victim.
It could not, however, be verified in the children were left to die by their guardian or they were simply dumped there after passing-out.
When our correspondent visited the scene, residents  and passersby  gathered  round one the bodies and wondering what could led to death of the kids.
Others, especially women who suspected murder in their death were seen raining curse on the perpetrators.
A resident in the area who identified himself as  victor Imonitie called on relevant authorities commence the  process of  monitoring expectant mother young girls “because all these young girls getting pregnant indiscriminately could do such things,” he said.
As at the time of filing in this report, security personnel from Esigie Police Division were seen making arrangements for the evacuation of the dead bodies.
