Deploy more personnel to Kaduna, Zazzau emir tells IGP

The Emir of Zazzau and Chairman Kaduna state Council of Emirs and Chiefs, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has requested the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to deploy more personnel to Kaduna state, particularly Zaria in order to arrest rising security challenges.

He made the request when he received the IGP, Mr Alkali Baba Usman, on courtesy visit in his Palace in Zaria on Thursday.

Ambassador Bamalli said his request became necessary considering a rise in banditry.

 He however, commended the state Commissioner of Police, the DPOs and the entire police, said there was need for more Manpower.

The emir also requested the IGP to provide more logistics such as Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and others.

Earlier the IG told the emir that he was at his Palace to seek his royal blessings and guidance.

He pointed out that the Police was ready to improve security of lives and property of Kaduna state citizens especially the Emir’s domain.

He further noted the Police was aware of security challenges in the state and they must do everything possible to bring menace to an end.

He said: “Kaduna is my home. I have served in Kaduna state for 14 years out of my over 30 years of service. So I must to all I can do to stamp out insecurity in Kaduna particularly zaria.

“We will do our best to see that security in Zaria is improved in such a way people can go about their activities without any fear”.

In his remarks the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar Muri said that he believed that the IG would grant the Emir’s request.
