Staff of Federal Unversities and Colleges of Educations (CoEs), are currently been enrolled on the Integrated Personnel Payroll System (IPPIS), Blueprint have learnt.
The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has been up in arms against the federal government’s directive to enrol on the payment platform.
President Muhammadu Buhari had in October directed that university lecture who fail to enrol on IPPIS by October who have their salaries suspended until they join the payment platform.
However, last week, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) in a circular announced that it would commence the enrollment of “all staff of Federal Universities and Colleges of Education in the country.
According to a statement by Deputy Director Press in the OAGF, Henshaw Ogubike, the staff should present themselves for the exercise which commenced on 25th November, 2019 and will last till 7th December, 2019.
The urged all staff of Universities and Colleges of Education to come to the venue of the exercise with their Letter of First Appointment, Letter of Last Promotion
Evidence of Transfer of Service (if any), Staff Identification Card, Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age, Educational Qualifications, Copy of Bank Statement (6 months), BVN Printout, PFA Printout, and Evidence of Change of Name (if any).
“Officers from the IPPIS Department in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) will be on ground to conduct the enrollment exercise.
“All eligible staff of Federal Universities and Colleges of Education in Nigeria are enjoined to cooperate and ensure a seamless enrollment,” the statement said.
Registration exercise at Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State continued wirhout hitch on Wednesday.
At the federal university, Otuoke, Bayelsa state and Federal College of Education, Pankshin, Plateau state, report say registration was also hitch free.
A member of the verification team at the Petroleum University in Warri, Delta state who will not want his name in print because he was not permitted to speak on the matter told our correspondent that the exercise has been peaceful.
He was “optimistic that ASUU will respond before end of exercise.”
The exercise is expected to end on Friday.
