The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled
March 9, 2019 as date for conduct of supplementary presidential election in areas where poll was cancelled last Saturday.
INEC’s national commissioner for information and voter education, Festus Okoye, revealed that the supplementary polls will be conducted alongside the governorship and state houses of assembly elections.
Okoye said the decision was reached during the commission’s meeting with resident electoral commissioners (RECs) on Thursday in Abuja.
The commission has directed the Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) to submit comprehensive reports of violence incidents to the Commission for appropriate action.
The decisions were reached at the meeting between the management team of INEC and RECs of all the 36 states of the Federation and FCT.
