We don’t aid oil bunkering-NSCDC

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Abdullahi Muhammadu, has denied the allegation that his agency was aiding bunkerers.
Muhammadu, in a statement signed by his spokesman Okeh Emmanuel, was reacting to the allegation by a community leader in Delta state alleging that the Corps personnel were aiding illegal oil bunkering.
The CG however, warned against indicting statements from community leaders who ought to applaud the efforts of the Corps in fighting vandalism, oil theft and illegal bunkering.
“We therefore charge anyone with evidence to come forward instead of castigating the efforts of the Corps drive. Our slogan still remains collect bribe and die, compromise and be kidnap,” he stated.
“However, the Community, Traditional, Religious and Youth leaders are suppose to work hand in hand with the security agents in their localities in protecting the infrastructures by providing useful and timely information for the agencies to work with but because they are partners in crime sharing in the goodies from vandals and illegal bunkering, rather they connive with saboteaurs and concealed information from security agencies.
“Nonetheless, no matter the false accusation, the Corps will never deter in executing its mandate of protecting the Nations infrastructures and bringing to book those involved in the act of vandalism and illegal oil bunkering no matter how highly place they may be. The law is no respecter of anyone as such persons are enemies of the state.”
