Don’t deploy military to South-east, Ohaneze warns FG

Ohaneze Nigbo Worldwide Sunday warned the federal government against deploying Military to South-east region, saying it may lead to the braking up of the country.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to Blueprint by the Secretary General of the group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro.

Isiguzoro noted that the southeast had  remained the safest place for foreign and local investments untill the sponsoring of Northern bandits to the zone.
The statement reads in part, “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide had warned about the dangers of any military Deployment to Southeast, insisting that the consequences of such impulsivity might lead to Nigeria’s break up.

“Southeast had remained the Nation’s safest place for foreign and local investments until UK Ambassador announced the earlier warnings of Northern bandits being sponsored to the South, possibly to wreak havoc and tensions in the region.

“Our beliefs and suspicions were reinforced through evidences of serial  attacks and violence perpetrated in our zone by ” unknown gunmen”, few weeks after UK’s warnings of exodus of Northern bandits heading towards South, with provocative agendas to infect crisis, anarchy and promotion of civil disturbances especially in the peaceful Southeast and south South for political reasons.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide call on President Muhammadu Buhari to resist the temptation for military Deployment to the South east as the consequences might be a disaster or preparatory ground for unending guerrilla activities or another avoidable war, Ndigbo has implicit confidence on ESN and Ebubeagu for self defense.

“Military must focus on the insurgency in the North and refuse to fight at all fronts at the same time, ” Ndigbo are emergency experts and any infiltration in the process of igbo defensive  mechanism might spell doom for Nigeria “, Ndigbo don’t need military assistance now or except there are high level manipulations to destabilize and destroy our region for political purposes and deny Ndigbo, Presidency in 2023”, it stated.
