Don’t give money for recruitment, police warn applicants

Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of logistics and supply, Alhaji Abbati Maigari Dikko, has warned applicants seeking to be recruited into the Nigeria Police Force to be of good conduct and avoid the temptation of using money in securing the job.
Addressing applicants from Kano state in Kano yesterday, Dikko said the recruitment of the police personnel was a result of the request put forward to the President by the Police Service Commission which the President obliged, affirming that using money to secure the job outrightly disqualifi es one. Dikko said he had been inspired by the conduct of the applicants he saw in Kano, considering the peaceful nature of the recruitment exercise, stressing that what he had met on ground was a pointer to the fact that the applicants were ready to embrace the “true concept of discipline, commitment and absolute loyalty.”
He commended the Kano state Police Command for “taking the bull by the horns” in ensuring that the recruitment exercise “is a huge success in the state,” stressing, however, that conducting an exercise of such magnitude entailed “a great deal of dedication, commitment and sacrifice.”
