Don’t place ethnicity, religion above competencies – Governorship candidate tells Oyo electorate

The Oyo state governorship candidate on the platform of African Action Congress (AAC), Mr Mojeed Okedara, on Tuesday charged Nigerians not to place ethnicity and religion above competencies and character in this year’s general elections.

Mr Okedara in a New Year message by his media bureau in Ibadan urged Nigerians to, in the overall interest of the nation, be committed to the Nigeria project and elect good, quality people to represent them

“On the national level, we should try not to place ethnicity and religion sentiments above Competencies and character of those we are voting for,” he said.

Mr Okedara added, “Let us all be committed to the Nigeria project and elect good and quality people to represent us at all levels of governance.”

“I, Mojeed Okedara, have what it takes to turn things around for better. If voted to be the next governor of Oyo state, this maladministration in my dear state should stop”.

The AAC governorship candidate stressed that there was the need for Nigerians, especially, the people of Oyo state to remain hopeful of a better tomorrow, notwithstanding the challenges besetting the state and nation currently.

He then assured the people of Oyo state that he would always be found championing the cause of the people, privately or publicly, in line with his brand of progressive political ideology, while wishing everyone a blissful and prosperous year ahead.

Stressing that he would always take side with the masses, he said good times would surely come when the people of Oyo state use their voting power to effect a change in the administration of the state by giving him their mandate through ballot.
