As the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) closes it 2019 Batch ‘A’ orientation course, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Mallam Muhammed Bello, has appealed to federal government agencies and organisations within the FCT not to reject any corps member posted to serve in their organisation.
Bello, speaking during the closing ceremony of the batch in Abuja on Tuesday, says agencies and corps employers should be patriotic.
Bello, who was represented by his chief of staff, Mr Mahammed Bashir Mai.Bornu, advised the corps members not to leave their trainer half-baked, but to patient to be made a certified and professionally bred entrepreneur who will break new grounds.
He assured the corps members that the administration placed high premium on their plight and working to ensure that they did not just finish well but strong to forming the integral part of the forces of the youth that will drive the nation’s economy with global best practices.
“I urge you therefore to take advantage of the entrepreneurship trainings; the SAED programme of the scheme and be sure to leverage on the enabling environment provided through collaborations with relevant institution to ensure your self-sufficiency.
” I admonish you to thrive towards being on the same page with the scheme and indeed the federal government, and alight yourself with your ideal skill couple with a consistent and committed follow-up with the trainer in the course of your service year,” he said.
The State Coordinator, Mr Ballama Bello Binirwa, said the scheme expectation of hosting hitch-free exercise did not suffer any set back, as there was credible collaboration between both corps members and their staff.
He said, “I must reiterate that the Federal government is expectant of your unalloyed cooperation and involvement in the fight against corruption, fake news and hate speech. I urge you to be a dependable vanguard to bring about the needed change in the system. You must be disciplined in all your dealings with your host communities in order to impact positively on the lives of the youths who would be looking up to you for credible guidance,” he counseled.
He said the NYSC- FCT is desirous of sustainable and accelerated socioeconomic development of the FCT and the nation in general and that the corps members are the pivot of this determination.
