Dried fruits and nuts snack

Take-your-pickDo you love snacking but scared of consuming calories? If your answer is yes, then you are going to have fun snacking on dried fruits and nuts snack. Not only are you consuming something healthy, it is fun and everybody in the family will love it!

Ingredients
Two cups of ripe banana cut in circles.
One cup of cashew nuts
One cup of groundnuts
One cup of pineapple cut in little squares
One cup of diced coconut

Method of preparation

– Preheat oven
– Lay out sliced fruits on trays and leave to air dry a little.
– Place in preheated oven for 3-4 hours until fully dried (between chewy and crunchy stage). Some fruits may take longer, depending on the size of the slice; the thinner the better.
– Turn the fruits over every hour to make sure the entire slices are drying out. You may have to do the fruit in batches. Check on fruit often.
–  Once all the fruits are dried and cooled, put them in a large transparent bag (Ziploc), followed by cashew nuts and groundnuts.
– Seal the bag, shake and store in refrigerator to keep fresh. It can last at least a week if refrigerated.

*Note:
Feel free to use any fruit you desire. You can add any nuts you so choose and any other healthy ingredients you prefer.
