Eaglets are role models – Majekodunmi

The leader of the delegation and board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Hon. Ganiyu Majekodunmi has said that the Golden Eaglets are role models and classical example of a team that parades very young players in the tournament.

Majekodunmi who is the chairman of Ogun state football association disclosed this while charging the team to put behind them the loss to the Baby Elephants of Ivory Coast.

He said the NFF was spot on with the policy of fielding very young footballers to represent the country at the different age grades of football.

“I commend the players. On behalf of NIgeria Football Federation, NFF, we are here to support you. Please put behind you the loss to the Ivoriens,” Hon. Majekodunmi told the Eaglets.

“If you win your next game very well, you will qualify for the semi – final. The fact you are the youngest set of players in this tournament gives me so much joy.

“And you all passed your MRI test without any doubts gives me so much fulfilment because you are the role models here in terms of how young the Nigerian team looks and this is what the NFF is focused on when we talk of youth football development,” he said.
