Easter celebration: Police to secure Churches, public buildings, recreation centres in Anambra


The Anambra state police command, Wednesday, vowed to secure all the worship centres, recreation centres and public buildings in the state during the Easter festivity.
The state police commissioner, Mr Monday Bala Kuryas, who stated this in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, disclosed that they would provide 24 hours visibility patrol.


“The Command has prepared an elaborate operations order which effectively covers all places of worship, recreation centres ,public buildings, flashpoints,black spots and other vulnerable areas in order to ensure adequate protection of life and properties in the State. 
“Individuals or groups desiring and planning to truncate this noble intention are warned to desist forthwith as any breach of the public peace will attract full wrath of the law. 


“The Commissioner of Police CP Monday Bala Kuryas, while wishing all Christians a happy and peaceful Easter celebration also enjoined them to use the period and pray for sustainable peace in the State and Nation at large. Finally, the Public is assured of our commitment to ensure Safety and Security before, during and after the Easter period,” he noted.
