Easter: Church doles out gift items to patients, inmates, others

For patients at the Kubwa General Hospital, King’s Care Hospital, Unity Clinic and Maternity, children at the Divine Wounds of Jesus Orphanage, Kubwa Divine Orphanage home, it was a moment to savour as Dunamis International Gospel Centre Phase 4, kubwa, Abuja, gave them bags of rice and cartons of indomie to mark the Easter celebration.
Other items they got were tubers of yams, foodstuffs, beverages, toiletries, pampers, baby milk, shoes, clothes, and the church’s daily devotional, Seeds of Destiny
Detainees at Police Area Command Headquarters Kubwa, were also not left out as they got a douse of the church’s humanitarian gesture.
The Pastor of the church and his wife, Mr and Mrs. Great Olusegun Ayodele, who led members of the church to visit the less privileged said the donation was part of the church’s social responsibility to its host community.
He said the season is set aside to commemorate the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, stressing that the power of Christianity is anchored on the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Ayodele said Easter signifies that life is stronger than death, according to him, when the enemy has done his worse, then the stage is set for God to do his best adding that what man thinks is the end is the beginning with God.
He prayed for the recipients and enjoined them to renew their faith in God who is able to set them free from all afflictions and restore their destinies.
Pastor Ayodele prayed for Nigeria and urged leaders at all levels of government to rule with the fear of God and provide dividends of democracy to the people which is the essence of governance.
Foundation sues for compassion, love among Nigerians
The President of Israel Ibeleme foundation, Amb Israel Ibeleme has called Nigerians to show compassion and love to those around them as well as build a strong personal relationship with God.
According to him, “we must live our lives as witnesses of the risen Christ and be examples to people around.
Ibeleme, who also recently bagged the Ambassador for Peace from the United Nations, made the call when the foundation gave out gifts and food items to the less privileged at Tofa Village, Nasarawa state in commemoration of the Easter celebration.
He explained that “this year mark the 12th years of Israel Ibeleme Foundation and we use this opportunity to thank God for bringing us this far as there were there to celebrate with widows and the less privileged.”
He further charged them to use the season to live a christ-like life and celebrate “the love of our Lord Jesus Christ who rose from the dead.”
To Christians he said, “let us emulate the life of Christ by showing compassion and love to everyone around us as well as building a strong personal relationship with God.
“We must live our lives as witnesses of the risen Christ and be examples to people around.
“As we know, our Nation is Multi-religious I therefore call on every one of you irrespective of your beliefs or religion to show love to one another.
“I would like to ask you to keep praying for the unity of this nation, to pray for the Government of Nasarawa State. Also let us continue to pray for our leaders, President Muhammadu Buhari and his team, and don’t forget to pray for the Minister of Transportation, Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and everyone that has contributed to the success of this Nation.
“The widows are not left out as we intend to give food items to about 500 persons including the Christian and Muslim families, so as we celebrate, let’s remember the future of our Nation and live as one United Nation.
“Let every one of us preach peace and live in harmony with our neighbours while building strong relationship with God.
“Our mission is to reach out to those we can, help those we can help, do the little we can and let God do the rest,” he said.
