Easter: Church empowers 3,000 widows

No fewer than 3,000 widows have benefited from Tabitha global empowerment programme of the Spirit and Life Family Bible Church.

General Overseer of Spirit and Life Family Bible Church, Apostle Mrs Deb’rah Godon-Osagiede, said the programme is currently runing in 19 locations in the six area councils of the federal capital territory FCT.
The cleric disclosed this when members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Edo State council paid her a courtesy visit.
Chairman of the Chapel, Mrs. Nefishetu Yakubu, said the visit was to congratulate the church leader on her recent award as the “US congressional 2019 global Woman of Excellence”.

Responding, Godon-Osagiede stated that “a gearter number of them (beneficiaries) were those affected by the Boko Haram insurgency and those who lost their husbands to HIV”.

According to her, “I moved to Abuja about 15 years ago and I met some widows and extremely young mothers who were really vulnerable, helpless and hopeless.

“Tabitha global empowerment programme had three stages. the first stage was to change the mind set of the widow- making them understand that there was no need to depend on anybody for help.

“The second stage was training them on 25 skills using the palace as the venue. the third stage was to empower them with starter packs in different skills they have learnt.”
