Easter: Uzodinma urges Christians to follow church services online

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state has advised Christians in the state to celebrate Easter Sunday Services at home by following it online.

The governor who gave the advice during his Easter broadcast, said this was to avoid crowd which might jeopardize the fight against  the deadly Coronavirus in the state.

He suggested that they could tune into a newly introduced DSTV Channel, Alleluia Channel for the celebration, instead of attempting to celebrate in their various churches.

Uzofinma said he was pained that as a Christian, he was not going to celebrate this year’s Easter in a congregation, pointing out that it would be a sacrifice which was needed in the state to prevent the dreaded Covid 19 from entering the state.

The governor, while thanking God Almighty for keeping the virus out of the state, commended the people of the state for their cooperation and understanding as efforts had been intensified to ensure that the virus did not make headway into the state.

He finally disclosed that government had sent palliative materials like bags of rice, cartons of noodles, tubers of yam etc to all autonomous communities in the state to cushion the effect of the lockdown in the state.
