Ebimobowei: I will wait for my Super Eagles call up

Joint leading scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Peter Ebimobowei of Bayelsa United has said that he would continue to bide his time despite being overlooked by the Super Eagles’ selectors for the country’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations double header qualifiers against Congo and South Africa next month.
Ebimobowei has scored 13 goals in the league thus far, same as Enugu Rangers’ Ighodalor Osaguona who was called up for the game.
But the Restoration Boys’ striker was snubbed while Osaguona and Gbolahan Salami of Warri Wolves were considered for the two games scheduled for September 6 and 10 in Calabar and Cape Town respectively.
The Bayelsa United player told Goal that he won’t allow himself to be bothered by his non-inclusion because this could affect his output but would rather concentrate on his game and his bid to ensure that his club does not suffer relegation woes.
He said at the right time he would be called up and that his goals would speak for him at the end of the season and that he would make use of his non inclusion presently to rake in more goals and as such open up a gap between him and other strikers eyeing his position.
“I am aware that not everybody can be called at the same time. I am happy to wait for my time. When it is my time to be invited nobody can stop it. I am very certain that I will play for the Super Eagles some day and I am not desperate about it.
“I will use the opportunity presented me to score more goals starting from the game with Nembe City, a team I know too well. We will play against them on Saturday,” Ebimobowei told Goal.
