Ebira Imam was humble, gentle Islamic teacher – Bello

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has expressed shock over the passing away of the Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Alhaji Musa Galadima, at the age of 110 years.

In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, Lokoja, on Friday, the governor extolled the virtues of Alhaji Galadima, describing him as “a humble, gentle and a serious Islamic teacher whose tutelage extended beyond Nigeria.”

While calling on Islamic clerics to emulate the life led by the late Chief Imam, Governor Bello said the death of Alhaji Musa  Galadima was a devastating loss not only to Kogi State, but also to Islamic World, adding that the depth of the loss would be felt beyond the shores of Nigeria in view of the vastness and depth of his Islamic  knowledge.

“The late Chief Imam was God-fearing, honest, disciplined, and obedient to the constituted authority especially the traditional institution,” the statement read in part.

While praying to Allah to forgive him all his shortcomings and made Aljanat Firdaus his final resting place, the Governor condoled with the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, the immediate family and the people of Kogi state.

Meanwhile, the administrator of Okehi LG council, AbdulRaheem Ozovehe Ohiare, has condoled with the good people of Ebiraland, specifically the Muslim Ummah over the demise of the revered Chief Imam of Ebiraland, Sheikh Musa Abdullahi Galadima.

In his condolence message through his media aide, Comrade Abdullahi Abubakar, the council administrator expressed grief over the death of the renowned Islamic leader whose contributions to the development of Islamic faith in Ebiraland was never in doubt.

“He is a peacemaker, a bridge builder and a society developer who has left an indelible mark in the history of Ebiraland,” he said.
