Ebonyi council chair builds house for victim of collapse building

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state Thursday, commended the chairman of Ivo local government, Mr Ogbonnaya  Chukwu Ude, and the coordinator of Akaeze Development center, Mr Kingsley Agbadu, for constructing a new house for the family of Mr Sunday Okerere whose 3 children died in a building collapse last weekend.

Okerere, a 43-year-old commercial motorcycle rider lost his 3 children, a boy and two girls who are 2,6 and 8 years respectively.

The wife and one of the surviving child sustained serious injuries and are in a hospital.

Umahi who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, consoled the family and ordered proper investigation into the remote course of the building collapse, saying such incident has never happened in the state

He also made a donation of an undisclosed amount to assist the family while assuring them of more assistance.

Meanwhile Mr Okereke blamed the ugly incident on mysterious rain fall.
