Ebonyi First Lady empowers over 2000 indigent widows

Over two thousand indigent widows have been enjoying monthly stipend from the Family Succor and Upliftment Foundation Program of the wife of Ebonyi state Governor.

This was disclosed by Mrs Rachel Umahi during the launching of the program on Saturday at Akanu Ibiam International Conference center Abakaliki.

Mrs Umahi who recounted the success of the foundation said,  “family succor started in 2015 and have provided hope to the downtrodden.

Over two thousand widows receives stipend from the succor foundation.

Also, her Enugu state counterpart, Mrs Monica Ugwuanyi who graced the occasion  called on Stakeholders of Ebonyi state to always seek for the downtrodden in the communities whenever there is call for empowerment.

“The only way we can help Her Excellency is by bringing out  the real indigent persons when they are called for.,let us not keep on doing IM, let’s pick the right people from the rural areas where you are representing her because she can’t be every where you people are her eyes in the rural areas and you are the ones to fish out the most vulnerable people to be empowered”.

Meanwhile Governor David Umahi in his remarks, Urged the people to show little kindness to others, adding that said it was the only way to make the world a better place.

He also  described his wife  as an epitome of upliftment, while assuring that the state would join hands with her to build a better society.
