Ebonyi new CP assumes duty, states action plan

The new Commissioner of Police posted to Ebonyi state command, CP Aliyu Garba, Monday assumed duty with an action plan to tackle insecurity in the state.

CP Aliyu took over from Sule Maku ,who was transferred to Special Protection Unit, Force Headquarters Abuja.

 The commissioner while speaking with journalists in his office at the state command noted that efforts would be put in place to ensure that robbery, kidnapping, cultism and other social vices were curtailed in the state.

He said, “It is an obvious fact within the knowledge of everyone that security challenges is a serious problem in Nigeria toady and Ebonyi state is not an exception to this fact.

“However, it is my desire to unveil and execute certain actions plans that will make us to achieve robust policing in the state and I assure my officers and men, media practitioners, stakeholders in the security palace, and members of the public that with your maximum cooperation, we will collectively win the battle of fight against all forms of crimes and criminalities in this state and by extension, Nigeria at large.

“These are some of the few mechanisms I intend to put in place; respect to fundamental human rights of the citizens as enshrined in the constitution and professionalism by my officers and men while discharging their constitutional mandate to protect lives and properties in the state, robust collaboration with sister agencies to tackle all sort of criminalities in the state, identification of crime prone areas and boundary/community clashes to dialogue in town hall meetings.

“All efforts will be put in place to ensure that we fight against all sorts of heinous crimes like robbery, kidnapping, cultism and other social vices with a view to minimize the menace to barest level in the state,” he said.
