Ebonyi PDP crisis: Odii embarks on house-to-house reconciliation

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi state, Mr. Ifeanyi Odii, weekend said he is going from house- to- house to reconcile the aggrieved members of the party.

Ever since the primary elections of the party in May and June 2022, PDP has been factionalised in the state.

Odii and Senator Obinna Ogba have been in court over the authentication of the PDP governorship candidate in Ebonyi state due to separate primary elections that produced them.

While the Odii faction had their primary elections on May 28 and 29, 2022, the Ogba’s faction had theirs on June 4th and 5th of the same year.

Though a Federal High Court in Abakaliki upheld the elections of May 28th and 29th that produced Odii, Ogba’s faction took the case to the Appeal court.

The Appeal court had favored Ogba but the Supreme Court faulted Ogba for not appealing the judgment of the High Court before taking it to the Appeal Court. It however upheld the judgment of the High Court.

Addressing journalists in Abakaliki, Mr. Odii thumbed up Supreme Court judgment and described it as a victory for all.

He said, “It is our victory, victory for the Ebonyi people, and victory for the PDP family. Now they have gotten it, it is for us to work very hard so that we can win the general elections.”
