Ebonyi South: APC ward chair denies suspending Agomeze

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Chairman, Chief Ogboji John Ogbonnaya, Umudomi Onicha local government area of Ebonyi state, Monday dismissed the suspension and expulsion of Mrs. Ann Agomeze from the party by Ebonyi South zone of the party.

Agom-Eze has been in court over Ebonyi South Senatorial ticket of the party where she is challenging Governor Dave Umahi over the ticket.

Ebonyi South zone of the party rose from its meeting on Saturday, suspended her and expelled her from the party for alleged gross misconduct.

But her ward chairman, Chief Ogboji John Ogbonnaya dismissed the suspension and expulsion.

Ogbonnaya in a statement said “the attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Umudomi Ward, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi state, has been drawn to a purported suspension/expulsion of Princess Ann Nwanyibuife Agomeze from the party at the Ward level. 

“I want to use this medium to categorically state that the rumours of her suspension/expulsion are all false as such has never happened in Umudomi ward. 

“Since the matter is in the Appeal Court and we have received an Appeal Court injunction to that effect. Hence, restraining us from suspending anybody until the Court determined. 

“I hereby urge the general public to disregard such rumour as Umudomi ward of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are peace loving people.”
