CAMPAN, which has all practicing Catholic journalists in media houses on its membership, gave Don Osehobo the award as part of activities to mark her 2021 World Communication Day.

Osehobo, who appreciated CAMPAN for the award, said, “The most sincere form of praise comes from one’s professional colleagues and brethren in the faith.

“I accept the recognition that although I have done anything excellent, with all sense of modesty, I will continue to uphold the ethics, integrity and well-being of the Media profession and contribute my quota to the growth 9f CAMPAN.”

The World Communication Day was established by Pope Paul VI in 1967 as an annual celebration that encourages Catholics to reflect on the opportunities and challenges that the modern means of social communication (the press, motions pictures, radio, television and the internet) afford the Church to communicate the gospel message.

It is celebrated each year on the Sunday before Pentecost so the Church recognises the achievements of the communications media and focuses on how it can best use them to promote gospel values.

This year 2021 had as its theme, ‘Come and See” (Jn. 1:46) -Communicating by Encountering People Where and as They Are
