Ahead of the 2020 governorship election in Edo state, beneficiaries of the federal government social investment programme, N-power have backed Governor Goodwin Obaseki’s reelection bid.
The beneficiaries were joined in a support rally on Friday by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), market women, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and others.
Spokesman for N-power, Nosagie Uzamere said Obaseki has been supportive to N-power beneficiaries in the state.
According to him, “apart from civil servants in Edo, the N-power program has the heighest number of direct employment from the Federal government.
“So, I want to say N-power volunteers are strongly behind you (Obaseki).
Continuing, Nosagie said: “I am not a party person. APC rep in Oredo was there for four years and they didn’t allow him to come back.
“As I speak, that seat has been lost for eight years. Please let us not make the same mistake.
“Next four years have to be Obaseki/Shaibu- (his deputy) ticket”, he said.
