Edo: NDLEA secured 6 convictions in one month – Sector commander 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Edo state has secured the conviction of six persons for dealing in cannabis.

The agency also arrested 48 suspected cannabis dealers within the month under review.

Edo sector commander of the NDLEA, Buba Wakawa, who stated this  in Benin City, Edo state capital said the agency also destroyed 10 farm lands of cannabis measuring   8.236067 hectares in the state.

He added that the agency seized 7,379.5901 kilograms of cannabis sativa and other psychotropic substance such as cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, codeine-based syrup.

Wakawa said, “We arrested 48 suspects, and secured the conviction of six other drug traffickers. Among the arrested suspects are 39 male and nine females.”

He commended the people of the state for supporting the agency and appealed for more intelligence report on activities of drug merchants.
