A fatal accident involving a Toyota Venza marked: BDG 893 ES and two Tricycles have reportedly claimed the life of a 77-year-old-woman.
The accident was said to have occurred on Tuesday December 22, 2022 at about 0600hrs along first Ugbor Road by John Edebia Junction in Benin City, Edo State capital.
This was contained in a statement issued by SP. Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesman for Edo State police command.
Nwabuzor gave the identity of the deceased woman as Mrs. Roseline Omorogbe of No. 12 Omoregbe Close, Off Guobadia, Ugbor, G.R.A Benin City.
The police spokesman said the late Roseline was a passenger in one of the tricycles.
The statement added that “the accident also caused severe bodily injuries to one other passenger and a tricycle rider.
“The injured persons were immediately admitted at a Medical facility, along Adesuwa Road, G.R.A; Benin City for treatments, while the deceased woman was deposited at Stella Obasanjo Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation”.
The spokesman further quoted the State Commissioner Of Police, Mohammed A. Dankwara, as “cautioning motorists and other road users to be extremely careful and adhere to the rule of engagement when driving.”
