Edo youths protest over suspended LG chair

Youths from Orhionmwon local government area of Edo state on Monday demanded the immediate restatement of the suspended council boss, Chief Roland Ibierutomwen, by the state government

Ibierutomwen and members of the council’s legislative arm were suspended by the state house of Assembly over unauthorised “overseas adventure” in October, last year.
The protesting youth who carried placards said “we want our elected chairman back to office. Enough is enough; we want to see the report of the Committee.”

Leader of the protesters, Comrade Aifuwa Bartholomew, expressed displeasure over the appointment of a sole administrator for the council.
He explained that Orhionmwon people had not passed a vote of no confidence on the suspended chairman and urged Governor Adams Oshiomhole to  make public the outcome of the fact-finding committee earlier constituted to look into the issue.
